Mr. Rothman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association Family Law Section's Executive Committee for over 25 years. He is currently Chair of their Parent Education Committee. He is the co--founder and co-chair (emeritus) of the Interdisciplinary Forum of Mental Health and Family Law.He is the author of Loving and Leaving- Winning at the Business of Divorce (Divorce Press.).
He has also been published in the American Bar Association's Family Advocate magazine, in the Family Law Review and in the New York State Bar Journal, as well as in various law school law reviews. He is a member of the Board of Editors of the Family Law Monthly. He has been quoted in the national press and has been interviewed on radio and national television. Mr. Rothman for almost a decade, served as an acting Village Justice . He was formerly an Assistant United States Attorney, representing the federal government and its various agencies in criminal prosecutions and civil litigation.He is listed in Who's Who in America, and has been listed in Who's Who in American Law, as well as in the Bar Register of Preeminent Attorneys and in New York Super Lawyers . He has also received a BV Distinguished Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, as an attorney of high legal ability and ethical practices.
Mr. Rothman is a cum laude graduate of the City College of New York and received his JD degree from the New York University School of Law.
