He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association Family Law Section’s Executive Committee for over 25 years and he is currently Chair of their Parent Education Committee. He is the co–founder and co-chair (emeritus) of the Interdisciplinary Forum of Mental Health and Family Law. He is the author of Loving and Leaving- Winning at the Business of Divorce (Divorce Press.).
He has been published in the American Bar Association’s Family Advocate Magazine, in the Family Law Review and in the New York State Bar Journal, as well as in various law school law reviews. He is a member of the Board of Editors of the Family Law Monthly. He has been quoted in the national press and has been interviewed on radio and national television. Mr. Rothman for almost a decade, served as an acting Village Justice . He was formerly an Assistant United States Attorney, representing the federal government and its various agencies in criminal prosecutions and civil litigation. He has been listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Law, as well as in the Bar Register of Preeminent Attorneys and in New York Super Lawyers . He has also received a BV Distinguished Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, as an attorney of high legal ability and ethical practices.
Mr. Rothman is a cum laude graduate of the City College of New York and received his JD degree from the New York University School of Law. He has been active in many community organizations and has competed in four New York City Marathons.
